MY Daily Tasks as Your Reno Wedding Planner

In this blog, I will share with you the daily grind of THIS Reno wedding planner. Shedding light on the meticulous planning and coordination tasks that goes behind creating those magical moments.

Taking the leap of hiring a planner here in Reno, known for its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant city life, can be an exhilarating yet daunting task. (Want to know why you should: Read here) As a Reno wedding planner, an orchestrator of dreams and details, I navigate through a myriad of tasks daily. I ensure that each of my couple’s special day is as flawless and memorable as they envision.

To add, I’m also a mom, dog mom and wife who loves every aspect of that part of my life as well so this blog highlights every real moment I have in my day, with those parts ALSO taken into consideration!

It starts…

The day for me as a Reno wedding planner begins with getting my son ready for school. After drop off, I come back to a steaming cup of coffee and a thoroughly review the day’s agenda. I’m not just diligent about my couple’s checklist but my personal one as well. For me, this includes checking my calendars, to-do lists, emails and messages from vendors, clients, and team members, addressing any urgent issues first.
Communication is key in this profession; hence, considerable time is spent on phone calls or meetings with clients. We discuss their visions, preferences, and any changes they wish to make. I’m always available via text for my clients as well. I know that that is controversial in this business but I love the relationships I build with my clients and they trust in me. They know I’m there for them whenever they need. These interactions are crucial in understanding my couple’s expectations and in building a strong and cohesive relationship.

By this time, I take a very quick pause to make some lunch. I am so fortunate to work from home, so I pet the pups, eat at my desk and continue to plug along.

Following client interactions, I then dive into the nitty-gritty of wedding planning – liaising with vendors. This involves negotiating contracts, and confirming bookings. Confirming that everything from the venue, catering, décor, to entertainment aligns with the wedding theme and client’s desires. Attention to detail is paramount for me, your planner. I ensure every aspect is meticulously organized, from the sequence of events, seating arrangements, to the minute details of the table settings.

My day might also include site visits to explore venues or to oversee the setup for an upcoming wedding. I verify every detail is in place and any last-minute adjustments are made. I also create signage and details for your events so this is when I would complete some of those tasks as well.

Designing a room schematic and layout

Into mom mode and work mode….

Another quick pause to swoop my son up from school. Back home and back to work.

I am continuously updating timelines and checklists, keeping track of progress and deadlines. I also manage client budgets, making sure every element stays within the financial boundaries set by the couple. Amidst all this, I also stay abreast of the latest wedding trends and local regulations, (hello instagram!) especially crucial in a city like Reno with its unique offerings and legal requirements for weddings.

I usually end my day around 6. Some days squeezing baseball practice in and swim all while still multi tasking the details of my clients weddings or events from the field or pool. Though some days, because I know most of my clients work; we will have meetings up until 8-9 pm. I really try and accommodate all my clients to the best of my ability.

My role as a Reno wedding planner is both challenging and rewarding. It requires a blend of creativity, organization, and interpersonal skills to transform a couple’s wedding dream into reality. Behind the seamless flow of the wedding day lies their hard work, dedication, and passion for creating unforgettable celebrations.
