Our last wedding of the year happened this past November and it was a romantic wedding here in Reno at Arrowcreek.
Let me back up…
Julie the bride contacted me at the middle of THIS September and she had a simple question :
How feasible is it to throw a wedding by November 11? Now, we’ve done a wedding in 3 months time….but never 7 weeks. To be honest, I was a bit worried. I very honestly said, well….it’s off peak season so there’s a possibility.
We arranged a meeting for that very Sunday, and I met Julie and her fiancée, Yani face to face. They are both hard working psychologists and incredibly busy. They basically said from the very beginning that they put their full trust in me and even gave me decision power during the planning process. We went right to work.
Putting in the work….
The one element that they had secured themselves was booking the wedding and reception at the Club at Arrowcreek.
I secured Justincredible DJ and Niki Ross Photography, and Twist floral for the event. I’ve worked with all three of these incredible vendors in the past, so I knew that we as a team could pull this off together! I worked with Shelayne and her team helped sculpt the floral look of the day. Once I had her vision, I got right to work on the vision board.
Making Plans….
This couple exuded love and romance to me when I met them. I attribute candles to romance. Dark woods also give off a romantic vibe. So romantic florals, hurricane vases with candles, tea light long stem candle holders and champagne glitter votive holders were a must.
We kept to to what I usually call my month to month timeline, that I modified week to week to ensure everything got handled in the proper time frame. Making sure every detail is completed since this would be such a quick plan. Time to start ticking things off our list.
Because we were so close to the date, I decided to go the Evite route, using paperless post. Paperless post was honestly a lifesaver with such a short amount of time, it gave me quick access to interact with guests if I had questions. I love a beautiful hand made wedding invitation, but I do believe, especially if your in a pinch or on a tight budget, paperless post is a great tool!
Julie was able to secure her perfect dress from Marchele’s Bridal. Michele at Marchele’s found her the perfect dress and had it altered in time. It was a stunning dress.
Yani purchased his tux from Men’s Wearhouse. He looked very dapper. He chose a blush tie as his pop of color.
The Romantic wedding details
We chose the linen colors, which complimented the florals and then that bled into the stationary.
With the help of Etsy, I found a stationary that we liked that matched the theme. The couple didn’t want a bold large scale floral design, but a subtle greenery type floral with pops of burgundy. Paperealities was the shop we used and it didn’t disappoint. I made all the stationary parts myself on a beautiful shimmery card stock. Thank you’s, escort cards, even some of the signage had the design on it.
The couple knew I had the capability of creating their signage and they chose to trust me to make all of the pieces needed for the day. Back to Etsy I went. I was looking for bulk pieces of dark wood that would be pre-cut. Because of the time crunch, pre-cut saved us time. I had found a piece of wood that I liked but there weren’t any bundles so I reached out to the shop owner. Grainhaven was so unbelievable! They were accommodating with what I exactly needed and was very affordable. Quick shipping and it was here to create with!
This is one of my favorite parts of planning/designing. The creation. I love creating beautiful items that compliment a wedding.
We had the guestbook and card box created from 2 different Etsy shops, but they did a great job of complimenting each other. The couple wanted some beautiful keepsakes for their home from the wedding. Primitive Weddings and RedBerry Guestbooks.
It felt like 7 weeks went by in the blink of an eye. Countless phone calls, emails, text correspondence to make sure everything went smoothly. All of the elements came together to create this incredible day.
Their special day…
Time to pull off that Romantic November wedding.
The day arrived and it was a beautiful November day…even a bit warm! Firstly, we worked with The staff at Club at Arrowcreek to produce this beautifully romantic setting. The patio overlooking the green was set with white chairs, and greenery lined the aisle. A Chuppah sat at the front, a traditional arch for a Jewish wedding. Twist Flowers came up with these gorgeous large sprays to frame the couple as they wed.
Inside, all the tables were adorned with matching bouquets of stunning burgundy, blush and white florals. The glass tealight and champagne candle holders, wood table numbers, burgundy napkins and the custom stationary all complimented the elegant room beautifully. The sweetheart table had a beautiful garland with stunning florals to match and a spray of hurricance candles of varying heights in front. Other signage placed throughout the event.
The Club at Arrowcreek was one of the best venues we have ever worked with. Darren and his staff our consummate professionals and they helped make the event one of, if not the best and smoothest we have ever done.
The wedding ceremony was conducted by Rabbi Myra Soifer and it was very emotional and intimate.
Afterward, the reception was catered by Arrowcreek and then the party was thrown by the very fun and talented Justin with Justincredible Entertainment. He flawlessly kept the dance floor full from the very beginning to the last dance and the incredible party booth was a hit with young and old.
Julie and Yani are some of the sweetest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with, and it was a true honor (and completed challenge) to work with them! 7 weeks isn’t a lot of time to plan a wedding but the couple, their family and guests were so happy with the our work. I’m so thankful they put their trust in me. So, next time someone asks if we can do a wedding in 2 months, we can say we got you!
Congratulations Julie and Yani!
