Outdoor Reno Spring Weddings always come with a little hesitancy, but this beautiful May wedding was unpredictable and gave us just about every season imaginable in a single day, creating a wedding day we will never forget.
From the very beginning, Liliana & Jimmie’s planning journey required patience, trust, and flexibility. Like many couples navigating the stress of wedding planning and everyday life, there were moments that felt overwhelming along the way. Even through the challenges, we worked together to coordinate vendors, adjust timelines, and carefully plan every detail, creating a celebration that truly reflected them and the love they were building together.
It was only supposed to sprinkle…
As the wedding day approached, I continually watched the forecast the week prior, to see if a rain plan needed to be implemented. Ultimately we made the decision, as the weather was seemingly cooperating, to go ahead without the rain plan. The day of the wedding arrived, and as with many spring days in Reno, the forecast continued to shift by the hour.
Rain rolled in. Temperatures dropped. Everything from décor to seating arrangements had to be carefully monitored throughout the day. However, as we watched the weather closely, we realized we had a small break in the weather coming.
We quickly adjusted the timeline and communicated changes with guests and vendors. We shifted the ceremony back by an hour to give the couple the outdoor ceremony they had hoped for. Thankfully, it gave us just enough time to create a beautiful outdoor Reno spring wedding ceremony surrounded by the incredible scenery Northern Nevada is known for.
Meanwhile, as the ceremony was taking place, the decorating team and venue staff worked quickly behind the scenes preparing the reception space after the rain. Glassware and place settings were dried. Linens were replaced, and seating areas were carefully reset to make sure guests were comfortable by the time the reception began. It was one of those moments where everyone came together behind the scenes so the couple could simply enjoy the day without worrying about everything happening around them.
It’s the marriage that counts….
In spite of the weather challenges, the day never lost its warmth or joy. Guests enjoyed the emotional and personal ceremony.
Laughter filled the reception, and the rain-soaked details somehow made everything feel even more romantic. You can even see raindrops captured throughout many of the photos. Small reminders of a day that was beautifully imperfect in all the best ways.
By the end of the evening, we had experienced all four seasons in a single day. Somehow it felt incredibly fitting for a couple whose journey to the wedding day had already required so much patience, flexibility, and trust. Through every unexpected weather change and timeline adjustment, Liliana & Jimmie never lost sight of what mattered most — celebrating their love surrounded by the people who meant the most to them. In the end, the rain, snow, sunshine, and rainbow only made the day feel that much more unforgettable.
